2013 Pixel Prize Mauritius Winners

Wonderful entries reflecting on the theme ‘Visions of a Sustainable World’ were received in this year’s competition. The judges were impressed by the high level of entries.

Save Our Planet – “This photo consists of a world map drawn on an apple in the hands of a child.The apple represents the nature being destroyed by humans and being saved by a child by the way he is holding it and the way he is looking at it.”

Second place
Ramdhun Siddhartha (St Joseph College)
Tapping solar energy
– “Our Magnificent Sun: From the universal giver of life to the alternative of hope that can have a major impact upon the preservation of life…a still-inadequately untapped source of renewable energy which has the potential to make our Earth clean and green. Yes, it is all in our hands!”

The birth of a forest – “This picture was taken near my locality at Albion,behind a green plot of land in the woods.When I came across this small plants, I immediately thought of a mini forest, which is so fragile as forests nowadays.It shows us green areas can still have a place in a city.”
